About Interiors & Lifestyle Futures

Interiors & Lifestyle Futures helps businesses in the West Midlands to find new high-value markets and create profitable and collaborative partnerships with other businesses and organisations. 

Companies also benefit from a programme of innovative workshops, exploring creative business tools and new technologies as well as enjoying access to the considerable research, design and technical expertise at Birmingham City University.

To date Interiors & Lifestyle Futures has worked intensively with over 300 companies, created 21 new businesses and built a network of over 400 companies.

From 2009 to 2012, ILF was a partnership of business advisers and practitioners from CIF based in Stoke and Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD).

As of 2013, the work is carried on by a team based at Birmingham City University's Parkside Building in the centre of Birmingham.

Funded by the European Regional Development Fund, Interiors & Lifestyle Futures has a huge target market in terms of geographical spread and a multitude of products and services. Clients come from a variety of markets and businesses ranging in size from single designer-makers to those employing more than 400 people.

Interiors: carpets, furniture, furnishings, textiles, ceramics, glass, lighting, kitchens and bathrooms, floor and wall coverings, bedrooms, window products, interior architecture, fixtures and fittings

Lifestyle: jewellery and silverware, clothing, fashion and accessories, travel goods, leather goods, sports and leisure goods, homewares, giftware and artworks
